A Woman Wearing Silk Kelp Dreams

The tattooed sword swallower
opens his mouth like a lover
who waits tentatively
for the tongue's bravado.

A wind grieves in bare rooms
where time hoards pressed flowers.
Morning  edges itself
through wood slats,
and petals burn with sun fire.

The sun straddles the woman in kelp.
