Watering Can

The term "watering can" first appeared in 1692,
in the diary of keen cottage gardner
Lord Timothy George of Cornwall.
Before then, it was known as a
watering pot
.

She watered a sprawl of flowers,
plucked weeds threatening to choke
her tidy plot. Dark moist earth
caked her hands and knees.

Getting up took time.

  1. Loved this picture - a beautiful essential part of any garden! Mine is plastic - how boring eh?

Thanks so much for being part of this fun day.
