 the clock
                    moved faster
                                            each
year

                off 
                    sec   onds

                                         ticking

off times as if no one noticed the missing time

I notice
              when laugh lines
etch into my skin
               when gray strands appear

when it takes longer to
                recall Joyce who played Ashes
                         in  the fifth grade 
performance of Cinderella

Tick tock tick tock
